The fact that the instructors in most gyms are too busy talking to each other or only want to help their mates is another good reason why many people quit right at the beginning of their health plan.  Sometime people want to change their lifestyle by getting into the gym scene which is usually a new year&#8217;s resolution.  This is often broken very quickly as the old habits come back to stay.</p>
<p>Other problems that people face may include the intimidation factor of going to the gym because of all the fit people that they are expecting to see there.  The truth is that most people who go to the gym are there for the same reason as you and me, to get into shape and change our bad habits. <p>When it comes to diet and nutrition some diets are very difficult to stick by, often because dieting means more food preparation time and usually always means foods that you don’t like eating.  A good nutritionist will take into consideration healthy alternative in the foods that you do like to eat so that the diet task is not so difficult.  Small changes are the best to start with and then continue to implement small changes to the diet. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A few years ago I was studying sports and fitness at the Auckland University of Technology and I was also working in a gym so that I would get some hands on experience.  After seeing the people come and go from the gym, some working hard but not achieving their goal while others were doing little but getting significant gains I decided right there at the gym that this kind of lifestyle was not for me.  Sure going to the gym was an important part of keeping fit but I wanted it to be fun and I did not want it to become a chore.</p>
<p>I started my day by eating a bowl of cereal and two pieces of toast to kick off my metabolism early in the day.  I liked to get the gym done in the morning if it was a gym day but I did not go everyday and I often substituted going to the gym for doing some other kind of physical activity like running or going to play indoor cricket.  For lunch I would have protein and carbs like a tuna sandwich or a chicken pasta lunch.  This energized me for the rest of the day and helped to replace nutrients that I needed for recovery after my activity.  </p>
<p>Morning tea was often a protein shake but only because I got them at a discounted price being a staff member otherwise I would have had some fruit, nuts and seeds.  I saved these foods for afternoon tea which meant I was really alert at work or at university during the afternoons.  Dinner was always meat and veggies except on the weekend where I went out for dinner and ate whatever I liked.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When I was encouraged to start my own fitness health plans I thought that would be a very easy process by eating less and going to the gym every day.  This was not the reality of the situation because fitness health plans do take a bit of calculating and creativity to establish a working routine.  So I consulted back to the gym instructor at my local gym and asked her exactly what she meant by a complete fitness health plan.</p>
<p>Not only did I need to eat a little less but I also needed to eat the right kinds of foods.  Eating less straight away without changing your dietary habits will only leave you feeling hungry for most of the day and also drain you of energy that is needed to keep you going.  So I modified my diet and ate less white breads and refined wheat and grains until I was in a good place with my eating habits.</p>
<p>The next phase of the my fitness health plans was to establish a workable gym routine that not only suited the goals I wanted to achieve but would also suit the time I had available to spend at the gym.  I was told not to take on a daily routine because it would be very difficult to keep going for a long period of time and also it would cut back on my social life.  So I increased my 2 day workout to a 4 day workout which were sessions of around 40 to 50 minutes each workout.  A few months later I was feeling like a new man and had heaps of energy to spare.  The recommended health plan had work really well and I was very grateful to my keen and knowledgeable fitness instructor.</p>
